KCT:Hierarchies and “climbing up”

We made some clustering stuff today on the seminar of

PhD-M: Philosophy of Science

Foundations and Practicing Collaborative Knowledge Construction and Design Thinking in Science and Technology

.

Here are the slide of that day

We should at first divide in 2-3 groups of 5-6 persons, and each one should tell about the “question that matters for him/her” .

First of all Sasha made me sad with his “ladies first” concept.  Strange, have you ever thought how much are we boys descrimitated by the girls? Have you ever questioned why “ladies first”? They prove hardly that they are smarter than us, they can bear much more than us boys, then why when it comes to let’s say standing in the line , or some other staff, I should give a turn to a girl, becuase “she is a girl” ?

Somebody thinks that girls are better than boys, becuase they are girls?  B…,s..t!

But here is not a place to speak about, maybe once I will  make a blog post regarding to this question….

Read part one here….

So  the aim was, that another persons in the group should write on a peace of red paper the “core belief”  that he get from the question and 2-3 ” assumptions” that  he/she get from the core belief. I am quite “asking” and “questioning” person as I can’t do stuff, when I don’t know at first “why ” and then “how” . I arise some questions regarding “what’s a core belief is” and “what is an assumption” and if we/I get it really right.

“Some” were  smiling , and some were  thinking that they know what is a core belief … So we continued after Dr. Hartner , an awesome and bright, personality, described somehow what form can accept “core belief” .. Some there in our group though , that it can be even as a question. Sorry, but I do not agree!!!!! Never. Belief can’t end with ‘?’.

Just googled and found a great answer . Some quote

The concept of belief presumes a subject (the believer) and an object of belief (the proposition). So, like other propositional attitudes, belief implies the existence of mental states and intentionality, both of which are hotly debated topics in the philosophy of mind whose foundations and relation to brain states are still controversial.
Beliefs are sometimes divided into core beliefs (those you may be actively thinking about) and dispositional beliefs (those you may ascribe to but have never previously thought about).

An assumption is a proposition that is taken for granted, as if it were true based upon presupposition without preponderance of the facts.

and there were formed some 5-6 major themes .  I was bored a little, and sad about position of the group “to do the stuff, just to do, and let’s do even we don’t understand what we are doing”. So I decided to provoce a little group against me. Maybe subconsciously I wanted that they dislike my question? Who knows. Anyway I am happy that they would not be in my KCT. I don’t need a collegues which are not goal-oriented, or even not result-oriented , but just-doing-oirented. Sorry guys. So when Jane spoke about personal relations and “managing relationship” stuff, I made some assumptions, which they dislike. :) Maybe I was very wrong when making personalized example, but anyway.

(I  WILL  DEFINITELY WRITE AN ARTICLE REGARDING GIRLS CHOISE AND DESICION MAKING MODEL IN A WEEK DAYS!!!!)

So I provoke them and I took myself from the group and put somewhere outside, becuase I was really dis-comfortable  with them.

In the end we made a big table, where we begine to put core beliefs papers , and somehow arranging them to “insels” , from which we  made following themes-frames(I don’t remember all I think…) But which I remember are

  • Homo Economicus
  • Happiness
  • Environment
  • Prediction
  • Hierarchy
  • Social..???
  • Project Management

The deal is that much people stick themselves to Homo Economicus theme (7! persons) and Prediction, and also  to Future Prediction somehow.

For me  all of them are somehow “langweilig” , and I insisted that even alone I want to take Hierarchies .  But as Alone its somehow forbidden, 2 absent people were ordered to my KCT.

…Part of email I sent to Patrick, who was absent, and sticked to my KCT ….

“Let me argue for my KCT, and why it’s interesting for me…

Maybe already you have mentioned that everywhere we go, we find some social pyramids. Starting from uni groups, ending with whole socium.Government, army, Science, any corporation or big company is a pyramidal structure.  And the deal is that there is always leaders and followers… The big role is that for example if we look at the money, some are on the top, they can afford in a restaurant a dinner for  16000Euro, and another can’t pay a phone bill 40Euro monthly…. There is always someone who is on the top and many  on the bottom of pyramide. And not only for money stuff. Academical life is also hierarchial… Bachelors are higher than not educated people, magisters more than they and so on… In the scientifical-organizational point of view.   But always there is a movement and people from the bottom “climb up”… There is a very hard process of acceptance by the upper persons

So for me was alsways  interesting
-How can I identify the pyramid
-How can i understand where am i in this pyramid
-How can/should I deal with the persons on the top
-If I want to be on the top of a  pyramid , on so called “vip lounge” , how can i climb up easily.Which guideline should I keep…

I am quite sure , that there is certain rules of behavior , which if not guarantee, but ease the “climbing” process.

here we connect somehow 2-3 main points like

leadership, working and communicating with/inside groups, charisma…

end of quote…

So I wrote to Johnny and Patrick. They both were absent and had luck/unluckiness , and were sticked to my KCT . :)

Johnny already accepted “his destiny” …Patrick also Accepted to be on board. Let’s see what will be further.

We will need untill next time to prepare observation strategy

Deliverables [Project 3]

  • Responsible person: Determine one person who is responsible for the KCT and who is the contact person for the teaching staff (this person will take over the coordination work, but he/she might take less work load for the operative work)
  • up
    • Group-presentation containing the following points (prepare for unit B3: Negotiating Observation Strategy):
      • Elaboration of the thematic field (see points above)
        • What? Why? Vision; metaphor, image, etc.
      • Suggestion of persons, places, organizations, “learning journeys”, etc. which are of high relevance for the thematic field (+ arguments for them)
      • Sketch of observation strategy/design + standards and format of observations
